Intensive Course in Embedded and System Programming
This is a short term and intensive version of DEPIK's highly successful
course "Diploma in System Programming". DEPIK has stopped
offering this 6 month long diploma course and in place of it, DEPIK is
now offering this short term intensive course.
Content wise it is almost identical to the long term course.
But practically it is much more intensive than long term course.
This Diploma covers the following modules:
- Advanced C and Data structures for System Programmers
- Linux System and Network Programming
- Embedded Systems and Real-Time OS Programming
Total duration
Each of the above module will be covered in one week (6 days) with two
theory sessions per day. Each theory session will be one and half hours
in duration. Every day, theory sessions are followed by lab sessions for
4 to 6 hours. During the lab sessions, Every student must complete the
assignments of the day.
Each module will be followed by one week of lab. Every student is assigned
with one or more mini projects. These projects are based on the theoritical
and practical skills gained so far. Students must complete these mini projects
in this week. During this week, students must spend at least eight hours in
the lab to complete their projects.
There will be a final project in the last two weeks. With this final project
the total duration of the course will be 8 weeks.

Admission criteria
One must be an engineering graduate with electronics/Computer science/IT/
Instrumentation as specialization. MCA and MSc(electronics/computers)
students are also eligible if they have very good interest for embedded
systems and system programming.
As this course is very intensive and highly practical, good C programming
skills on Linux platform are essential. As part of entrance exam, students
should write the given C programs on the Linux system. To make students
to get familiar with Linux, DEPIK is offering Linux Live CD and C programming
material during the registration for entrance test. Entrance test will be
followed by interview. This course is meant for bright and merit students
only.
Each batch is going to have 10 to 15 students only.
Individual Modules for Working Professionals
Working professionals can join for individual modules like
Linux System and Network Programming or Embedded and RTOS Programming.
Working professionals need not take any entrance test.
However admission to individual modules is subjected to the availability
of seats.
