Srinivasulu Karasala

DEPIK was started by Mr. Srinivasulu Karasala to fulfill his dream of empowering people with information and knowledge. Mr.Karasala started his career at Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE, DRDO Lab), Bangalore in 1988. Before that he has done B.Tech(ECE) in S.V.University college of engineering, Tirupati and M.Tech at IIT Madras in Communication Systems.

At LRDE he developed real-time radar controller and radar data processing software for AKASH(Rajendra) phased array radars. He developed strong expertise in using Intel 80386 single board computers (SBC) and Intel Real-time Multi-tasking Kernel (iRMK), Intel Real-time operating system (iRMX), and Intel Development tools.

Joined Wipro Systems, Bangalore in 1993. Through Wipro worked for GE Transportation Systems, Erie, USA for more than 2 years. Here he was involved in the development of real-time control and monitoring software for GE Locomotives. Later shifted to Wipro Systems, Hyderabad and executed embedded projects for Toshiba, Japan.

In 1997, moved to Intoto Software, here involved in the development of protocol stacks for PCMCIA, IEEE-1394, USB, TCP/IP and Bluetooth standards. These stacks are later ported to pSOS, VxWorks and Nucleus RTOSes on x86, ARM and PowerPC platforms.

He started DEPIK in 2001 to share his expertise in Embedded Systems, Networking and Linux. He also believes that computer and Internet are wonderful tools, using which education, knowledge and skills can be taught effectively to a large audience at a low cost. He wish to build such tools.

DEPIK is an acronym for his mission Dedicated to Empower People with Information and Knowledge.
